welcome
Welcome to Too Truthful, a domain that is lovingly managed by
Elle. She 'tries' to update it as often as possible, but
often doesn't come close to what she'd like. Here you can find
personal blips from her everyday life, thoughts, and
feelings, and a wide variety of content for you to create your
own website. Enjoy!

Tutorial - Beginning to Pixel
This tutorial will show you how to start to pixel! Ever seen those little
drawings that are really cute and made you really want to draw one? Now you can.
Just follow along. Enjoy!
Step One - Outline
Open up your image editing software. MS Paint is pretty easy to use and
almost everyone has it. Piexels always start with an outline. Draw freehand or
with line tools an outline you wish to pixel. I'm going to be pixelling a whale.

Step Two - Shading
Once you finish your outline, choose what color scheme you'd like to make
your pixel. The more experience you get with pixelling, the more color schemes
you can apply to certain areas, like different schemes for eyes, different
schemes for hair, etc. I'm going to choose a light blue color for this little
whale. Outline the black in the darkest shade of the color you chose. In my
case, I'd outline the black in the darkest shade of blue I chose.

Once you've outlined in the darkest shade you've chosen, make that color just
a few hues lighter, and outline again. (In paint, do this by double clicking
that color down by the colors and raise the bar to make it a bit lighter.) Keep
doing this as many times as you like. The more you do it, the more definition
your pixel has. It is all up to the pixeler.

Step Three - Basic Color and Detail
Once you've finished outlining, create the base color you'd like your pixel
to be. (Somewhat close to your outline colors.) Use the fill tool (paint can) to
fill in the base color. Then slowly add details and features to your pixel like
eyes, mouths, noses, bows, hats, etc.

.. and tada! You made your very first pixel! You could always email
it to me to show me how you did. :)
